Krka National Park. Croatia.

Krka National Park.

Schedule: 8:30am pick up — 10:30am arrival in Skradin — 11:00am start of the river cruise into the park — 5 hours free time — 4pm departure — arrive back in Split at 5:30pm. We booked with the Split Walking Tour Team through a hostel. Cost: 200 kuna for a private minibus transfer and boat ride. 90-110 kuna for the Park entrance depending on if it’s low or high season.

The falls themselves were very mystical. Take a walk around the wooden path for great views of the falls and small pools everywhere. For the best photo op, be sure to stop on the main bridge, and then have a swim! The water is cold at first, but it gets better!

In terms of time, you really only need about two hours instead of 5. There’s not THAT much to see, but the waterfalls are beautiful, and yes, mystical. Tip:

  • Pack a lunch, plenty of picnic areas to enjoy and cheaper than buying food there. Grab a beer and soak in the views at the cafe at the top of the falls.
  • We booked through a hostel, no tour guide necessary. 30 minutes to walk around the falls (2 hours if you’re slow is advertised), 30 minutes to swim and 30 minutes to eat. We had 5 hours there and killed time drinking beer, as usual.
  • Heard Krka is better than Plitvoise because it’s closer to Split, you can swim, and you can walk around the falls.

Fun Fact:

  • Swans everywhere!
